Chiropractic is a manual health therapy that is used to safely treat a variety of conditions whose unifying feature is abnormal joint function and / or movement. Typical symptoms of this joint dysfunction are pain, muscle spasms, weakness, and restricted patterns of movement.
Manual therapy includes a variety of hands-on treatments such as massage, trigger point, myofascial release, mobilization, distraction, and most uniquely manipulation.
Manipulationmeans a precise, rapid pressure applied to a restricted joint to help restore normal motion. Typical conditions treated by manipulation include neck and back pain, headaches, and injuries to the arm and legs. A restricted joint could potentially be any joint in the body, including a rib or the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
