I am excited to announce a new program that will evaluate five key blood markers of metabolic health with a simple pin prick in the office. The program will measure your muscle mass, fat mass, and total weight on a bi-weekly basis. The idea is to perform a detailed lifestyle analysis of your nutrition, exercise, and mind/body health and then develop your personal program for a healthier life. The first visit establishes a baseline, followed by bi-weekly visits in which you report your progress with weight measurements. This will allow us to build on and tweak your program. Finally, 10-12 weeks later, we reexamine your blood markers and have real data showing how much healthier you are.
Our Western lifestyle is responsible for our country’s disturbing overall health compared to other less wealthy and civilized countries. This is in large part due to our metabolic health. Improving our metabolic health is the key to avoiding our dependency on common medications for blood sugar, cholesterol, reflux, blood pressure, and other conditions. These medications frequently have negative, long-term effects that can lead to the need for additional medications.
